Porthallow to Maenporth
Start and Finish
From Porthallow to Maenporth (nr Falmouth)
Distance
17 miles
Type of Walk
A long and winding stretch, not as steep as the west of the Lizard, but Gillan Creek needs to be crossed at low tide (otherwise there is a detour through St Anthony-in-Meneage). Gentle wooded paths to the ferry at Helford (April to October). Then lovely strolls along the Helford Estuary around towards Falmouth via Rosemullion Head. Maenporth is a less built up place to stay, just before Falmouth
Points of Interest
Recommended because of the loveliness of the Helford - the village itself is a gem, and the estuary as viewed from the ferry or the path is perfect. Then Durgan is a perfect and remote NT village.
