Type of Walk

Very steep cliff walking. If the Lulworth Ranges are being used the inland detour required adds substantially to the walk. An earlier stop in Worth Matravers is a good option.

Fossil Forest Gate just after Lulworth Cove, with fossilised tree-trunks; remote beaches; Flower's Barrow Iron Age fort; Durlstone Head, and the Great Globe (a 40 tonne sphere representing the world). Swanage itself, an elegant and unspoilt Edwardian resort.
