This 460 year old building, the old Seamen's Mission overlooking this harbour at the mouth of the Exe, is right on the South West Coastal Path as it tucks inland from Dawlish Warren. Cosy low beams and real fires in the winter, and in the summer there's the verandah and harbour walls. From simple sandwiches and steaks in the bar (average main course £7.50) to venison, pheasant, scallops and oysters in the restaurant. Mussels come in 30 different options including korma, leek mornay or Guiness. Heavitree - Bass, Timothy Taylor, London Pride, Otter Ale.
